Late (less than 24 hour) notice to cancel or no-show fee	$100.00*
Late (less than 24 hour) notice to cancel assessment appointment that is scheduled for 2 or more hours	$200.00*

*This fee is not covered by most insurance companies.

We request that clients pay their portion of charges at the time of service. This includes any deductibles, coinsurance, or co-pays. We accept credit, debit, and Health Savings Account (HSA) cards, as well as cash and checks (make payable to Ames Psychological Wellness Center, P.L.C.).

Insurance

If you have a health insurance policy, it will usually provide some coverage for mental health treatment. We will fill out forms and provide you with whatever assistance we can in helping you receive the benefits to which you are entitled; however, you (not your insurance company) are responsible for full payment of fees.

We are currently contracted with Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and are considered in-network providers. If you have a different insurance company, we can also assist you in seeking out-of-network reimbursement benefits. We can provide you with a monthly statement which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

It is very important that you find out exactly what mental health services your insurance policy covers. Prior to your first appointment, please call your insurance company to determine your coverage by asking the following questions:

What mental health insurance benefits do I have?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
Do I have a co-pay?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
Do I need approval from my primary care physician?
Is preauthorization of sessions required?
What mental health coverage do I have for out-of-network providers? (If you do not have BCBS)
